Mr. Ensz practices primarily in the area of civil litigation and has tried in excess of 100 civil jury trials to verdict. His representation includes the defense of insurance companies, their insureds and governmental entities against property, casualty, personal injury, civil rights and professional liability claims.  Mr. Ensz also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of litigation matters, including civil rights, personal injury and general torts. Mr. Mizner is AV rated and his practice emphasizes the representation of employers in employment litigation, civil rights litigation and commercial disputes.  He also represents plaintiffs and defendants in catastrophic personal injury cases.  He has obtained successful jury verdicts in both state and federal court, including discrimination, personal injury and wrongful death claims.  Mr. Mizner focuses upon advising businesses on best practices to avoid litigation and his practice routinely involves obtaining summary judgment so his clients can avoid the risk and expense of trial.

Mr. Gist specializes in the representation of employers in employment and labor disputes.  He has obtained successful jury verdicts and summary judgments in employment discrimination cases including claims for wrongful termination in both state and federal court.  Mr. Gist has argued several cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and Missouri Court of Appeals for the Western District. He routinely represents private companies as well as cities and counties in employment and personnel matters.

He aggressively defends the rights of clients in high-stakes litigation and decisively leverages cutting-edge trial technology in the courtroom when advantageous. Mr. Smith has also had notable success with summary judgment motions, complex motion practice, and appellate practice.

In addition to civil litigation, Chris has extensive experience in administrative law.  He has handled countless administrative cases involving certified nurse/medication aide registration, adult care home licensing, community service provider licensing, governmental insurance benefits, and employee discipline.

Mr. Osborn focuses his practice primarily in civil litigation. Tom practices insurance defense and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in labor, employment, personal injury, and general business matters. Prior to joining Ensz & Jester, Tom enjoyed a 20-year career in the hospitality industry where he gained extensive experience in issues relating to restaurants and other service industries, including navigating the complex processes and procedures involving licensing and compliance. Tom began his hospitality career in corporate casual dining before entering the fine dining industry, where he spent most of his career in high-end privately-owned restaurants managing extensive inventories of fine wine and spirits. Tom obtained the required licenses for these businesses and understands the requirements and processes needed to get a hospitality business started and maintain compliance with the industry’s myriad regulations. Tom plans to use the knowledge he gained working in restaurants to expand his practice into Missouri’s emerging cannabis industry where he will be able to advise new and existing businesses on compliance and licensing matters and assist with any litigation that may arise.

WILKERSON

Mr. Wilkerson practices in civil litigation and represents both individuals and businesses in a plethora of different matters. Zak has a strong background in agriculture and agricultural law with which he is developing a sophisticated agricultural practice.  Prior to joining Ensz & Jester, he gained practical agricultural law experience from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Office of General Counsel and the National Agricultural Law Center. Zak is also experienced in cannabis and hemp law—having helped guide an industrial hemp and cannabis operation as part of the Arkansas Hemp Pilot Program. Mr. Wilkerson will utilize his unique legal knowledge and experience in the emerging hemp and cannabis industry to advise and counsel businesses through demanding industry compliance standards.
